Model-based index calibration

Blue Matter is exploring the ability to calibrate indices of abundance in the absence of comparative trawling, with Greenland halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) in NAFO Subarea 0+1 as the case study. Spatiotemporal modeling provides the framework to estimate the change in the population process vs. catchability difference.

Simulation analysis and historical validation will support the feasibility of this approach.
