Quillback Rockfish

In a collaboration with DFO, Blue Matter utilized the MP Framework to condition operating models to determine the status of the inside and outside stocks of Quillback Rockfish (Sebastes maliger), acknowledging the uncertainties across key population parameters such as natural mortality and steepness.

Empirical and fixed catch management procedures were then tested to identify catch recommendation strategies that would meet the requirements of Canada’s Fish Stocks Provisions with high probability.

These analyses were implemented in the openMSE package.
